List of Vinayak Temples you can visit during the Ghat Walk from Assi Ghat to Adi Keshav Ghat - 56 Vinayaks of Kashi

The first time writing this article is 19 May 2025. I have still not finished mapping each one of the 56 Vinayak Temples of Varanasi. But I am getting close.

One of the most enjoyable experience of Varanasi is a Ghat Walk. It is a walking pathway made from Ghat No 1 to Ghat No 84 and can be completed in a period of one to three hours. If you are going to have more stops, it might even take a day.

What is the best time to take a Ghat Walk?

Early mornings are the best. You can enjoy the sunrise. There is a lot of activity on the various Ghats like Panchganga Ghat and Assi Ghat. During the summer months, morning time is the only time you can enjoy a ghat walk.

Between the monsoon months of July to October, the ghat walk becomes impossible due to the water levels rising and flooding the ghat walk path. The complete month of October and half of November, the ghat walk path is covered with mud which makes walking a troubling experience, even with boots on.

There are three events marked in the month of November before which the ghats are cleared of all the mud and made ready for the people. Chaat Pooja, Tulsi Vivah and Dev Deepawali. These events mark the beginning of the Ghat walk season. Winters are the best for a ghat walk.
